"Grace of the Great Blue Heron" Large original heron watercolor by Janice Trane Jones

This is an original watercolor on 160 lb cold pressed tinted watercolor paper. It is a large painting and would be a lovely centerpiece in a room once framed. The painting measures 22 x 30 without a mat.
The Great Blue Heron is such a magnificent bird in color, size and sheer grace. I loved painting this one and was happy when it was completed. Now onto Sierra Vista, Arizona in the spring to see them pass through to the United States from Mexico.

Nature Fine Art Painting, Insect "QUESTION MARK BUTTERFLY" The Art of Nature, Fine Art by Mindy Lighthipe

The Question Mark Butterfly, Polygonia interrogationis, gets its name from the underside of the hindwings which have a pearly-white question mark. Caterpillar host plants include American and red elms; hackberry; hops; and nettles. Upon maturity, adult question mark butterflies will feed on rotting fruit, tree sap, carrion, and animal waste. Some adults will stay in the northern United States to hibernate, while others will migrate south.
